Elizabeth C. taught a beaded tassel class in Feb. 2017. The Guild arranges many classes throughout the year so members and non-members can learn new skills.
The art of making tassels—along with other elaborate decorative trimmings like braids, fringes, rosettes, and pom poms— is called Passementerie.
The class covered the basics of knotting and threading beads onto a monofilament, then stringing and attaching each design element to the tassel. It was very informative and the skills learned will benefit in other crafting disciplines.
