Join us each month for the Warped Weavers Study Group
The Warped Weavers Study Group meets once each month in the Guild studio to discuss everything that encompasses weaving on a loom. We plan group and personal projects, discuss trends, and enjoy camaraderie among fellow weavers. The group will have a few projects each year where members can guide each other through the warping process on a studio loom: from winding the warp to threading the heddles to throwing the shuttle to removing the finished project. It’s a great learning experience for everyone, especially if you are a beginner.
Bring along photos or notes on your current project, any books or magazines, and prepare to be inspired! If you are interested in learning more please join us and/or sign up for our mailing list:
The Warped Weavers meet the third Wednesday of every month from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m., in the Guild Studio located at 482 Constitution Way, Suite B-11, in downtown Idaho Falls. See the calendar for the actual dates each month.
The Warped Weavers are currently dressing a studio loom for Rep weave placemats. Each member of the group will have time to weave one placemat in this technique. Rep weave is a warp-faced technique, usually employed for placemats, runners, and rugs. In rep weave, the warp sett (or ends per inch) is tight, sometimes having as many as 120 ends per inch of fabric. The warp will dominate the color and design of the weave.
