Our Guild has several study groups that meet monthly to discuss new techniques, share ideas and work on projects.
Please note that you need to be a member of the guild to participate in these groups.
Warped Weavers
At their monthly meetings, members of the Warped Weavers Study Group get together to share ideas, projects, and techniques. There is a show and tell, and members take turns presenting on different topics and techniques (recent presentations have included inlay, block weaving, changing pattern drafts to make them work on looms with fewer harnesses, and weaving linen).
Little Looms
Little Looms, is a group that meets monthly who are working on smaller looms. These can be Tapestry, Inkle, small Rigid Heddle, or others. We meet to share our work, inspire each other, and help when problems occur. If you have been interested in little looms but haven’t gotten one yet this is the group for you.
Dizzy Spinners
The Dizzy Spinners meet several times a year for spin-ins, and the Guild hosts activities during the Tour de Fleece in the summer.
Rug Hooking
Members of the Rug Hooking study group create textured rugs or wall art using a hook or punch needle to pull loops of wool strips, yarn, or other fibers through a foundation backing such as linen. Many members use recycled materials, such as wool garments from thrift stores to create their designs. They meet monthly to share projects for inspiration, and “hook” together, and often travel to “hookins” or workshops in the area.
